With the flexibility to start at any time, our programme begins with a scoping call to understand your goals and tailor the coaching journey accordingly. Typically, our programme includes five coaching conversations. However, the exact number of coaching conversations may vary depending on your specific challenges.

Funding available 

In 2023 and 2024, principals can access an entitlement of up to $6,000 per annum for professional coaching and support for their leadership role. The purpose of this support is to ensure principal leadership development and wellbeing.

Meet the coaches

Jenna Crowley
Jenna Crowley

Jenna is a collaborative senior leader with a background in both education and commercial organisations including over 16 years of experience leading others’ learning. 

Jenna is experienced in individual and group coaching, as well as training others to Impact Coach and to effectively lead Professional Learning Communities within their own contexts.

With a passion for relationships-based approaches, Jenna is committed to building capability in those she works with through professional inquiry and supporting leaders to establish systems that support change. Jenna will help you to focus on evidence, improve team culture, and ensure sustainable outcomes that have measurable impact. 

Aleise White
Aleise White

Aleise is an accredited GROWTH Coach and Neuro-linguistic Programming Practitioner. She is experienced in empowering leaders to unlock their full potential.

Aleise has a strong belief in the transformative power of coaching, and she understands the vital role it plays in supporting wellbeing and improving leadership capabilities.

With a relational approach, Aleise builds trusting and collaborative partnerships with leaders. She creates a safe and supportive environment where leaders can explore their challenges, gain clarity, and define their direction. Through thought-provoking conversations, Aleise helps leaders identify their strengths, overcome obstacles, and develop strategies to achieve their goals.

Dr. Debbie Lomax

Debbie is a Dr of Philosophy in Education with expertise in Professional Studies and Change management in Education, Social Anthropology and World Religions. She is certified in Career Guidance and the application of Career Development Theories to counselling and coaching.

Debbie is experienced in one on one and group coaching of Principals to develop their professional management and leadership capability in state-integrated and mainstream schools. While working with the Ministry of Education, she was the Lead Advisor for all of the Communities of Learning in the Marlborough, Nelson, Kaikoura and West Coast regions, supporting Lead Principals in a collaborative mana enhancing way to develop personal confidence and professional practice.

Through a visionary approach, Debbie considers the holistic factors influencing, challenging, and supporting the individual. She draws on her kete of educational expertise and experience, and career development theories to ensure a bespoke approach that aligns with her clients’ diverse backgrounds, beliefs, educational context, and leadership styles to unlock their leadership excellence.

Jenna Crowley
Kim Bulluss

Kim is a collaborative practitioner and accredited facilitator with an extensive background in education, including over 12 years of leading, coaching and mentoring schools, leaders and teachers.  She is experienced in empowering people to establish and meet their goals and build their professional and personal potential.

Kim is experienced in facilitating one-to-one and group coaching and fully believes in a relational and trusting person-centred and solution focussed approach to support teachers and leaders and how coaching can lead to improved self-awareness, responsibility, performance, outcomes and overall wellbeing.

With a strong belief in people having a vast number of resources to use to facilitate change, Kim provides an empathetic, non-judgemental, safe and supportive environment, using active listening skills to help leaders gain clarity, explore perspectives and assumptions, determine their plan of action, and develop smart goals to achieve their outcomes working from a strengths base.

Kim comes with a kite of counselling skills to tap into to facilitate personal and professional change, with an interest in a cognitive behaviour approach and how thoughts influence behaviour and stress and anxiety management. 

Aleise White
Sarah Thomas

Sarah is an accredited Impact Coach and Group coach and is experienced in leading learning and supporting leaders in a variety of educational settings. 

Sarah has experience in both individual and group coaching formats, supporting leaders to unpack a variety of contextual-based challenges and set evidence-based goals.

With a passion for developing relational based pedagogies and bringing about equity in educational settings, Sarah is committed to creating trusting, working relationships where leaders are given agency to clearly define their own contextual challenges and be guided to develop effective, sustainable systems to support change. Sarah enables leaders to dig deep into their evidence and identify areas of strength to build capacity moving forward.

Rob Burrough

Rob is an experienced international educator. He has led two New Zealand secondary schools and two IB schools in Singapore and Kenya and he is a former senior manager in the New Zealand Ministry of Education. He has mentored, coached and appraised principals and other senior school leaders internationally. Additionally, he has skills and experience in strategic planning, change management and all aspects of school management from start-up schools to mature community and traditional schools. Rob’s recent work has been related to curriculum development and supporting NCEA changes.

Jenna Crowley
Rob Callaghan

Rob is a highly experienced educational leader having been a principal for 34 years.  During his career he established and led a Kāhui Ako, worked for the Education Review Office as an evaluator, and most recently has provided service as a Statutory Manager and as a Mentor to Principals’.

Rob’s strengths and expertise are in leadership development and effective, sustainable change-management practices.  He possesses extensive knowledge of curriculum review, design and implementation including effective assessment practice.

In addition, Rob is a skilled strategic planner and understands its importance in school improvement.  He uses his expertise to empower others to lead, build, and sustain effective professional learning communities.

Jenny Bennett
Jenny Bennett

Jen brings a background in principalship to facilitation. She supports schools and Kāhui Ako with strategic and relational leadership, cultural capability, and local curriculum design. In her work, she focuses particularly on supporting the progression from English-medium to dual-medium, and the development of bicultural kaupapa.

Jen supports schools to centre Te Tiriti o Waitangi, empowering partnerships to transform outcomes for all. She brings a focus on creating communities of care through partnerships and equity.

In addition to education, Jen facilitates and supports across other sectors, including facilitating partnership projects and providing administration support to local iwi. She also holds governance roles outside of education and is studying for a Masters in Māori Education.

Jennie Nairn

Jennie is an innovative educator with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Building collaborative, highly functioning teams is a specific area of interest promoting effective, productive and safe organisations. A solutions-focused, empathetic leader, Jennie is skilled in working alongside leaders to review processes and organisational structure to build on and develop culture.

Student leadership and the voice of learners complements her experience in curriculum, administration and leadership.

An experienced educator and parent, Jennie blends all perspectives effectively to build understanding and strengthen the relationships between student, school and family.

Ange Moko
Angela Dudson-Moko

Ange Moko is a dynamic coaching for impact mentor renowned for her transformative approach. With a focus on power-sharing and co-construction, she empowers individuals through relational trust, dialogue, and active listening.

Ange fosters a reciprocal model of coaching, creating mana-enhancing opportunities for personal growth. Her unique style encourages confidence and fosters self-discovery, guiding clients to evolve and thrive.

Ange Moko
Steve Saville
Steve has significant experience in school leadership and change management. He was the foundation Principal of Rolleston College in Canterbury and prior to that worked as Deputy Principal at Alfriston College. His role at Cognition has included Principal appraisal as well as working with new Principals and developing collaborative leadership teams in a number of settings.

Steve was a Regional Facilitator for the Te Kotahitanga Project and English Curriculum advisor for the Auckland region during the original implementation of NCEA. He has extensive experience in leading and developing authentic, skill-based learning contexts that empower learners and teachers. Steve has also researched the role of creativity in the learning experience and worked extensively in relationship-based learning programmes.
